Update: 7000 patients to be served and 150 affordable units at 7th and Wall!

I’ve been helping my friends at Los Angeles Christian Health get the word out that our project is about to be finished in December 2019! That means 7000 patients in Skid Row will be served annually (about double our current capacity of patient visits) with 55 permanent supportive housing units on site and another 100 units being built across the street run by Skid Row Housing Trust.

Framing from a few weeks ago.

I saw firsthand the progress for our 18 medical exam rooms, 8 dental chairs, 9 mental health rooms, full optical services, 13 social worker offices, the chapel and an amazing welcome area. It’s going to be transformational physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Amazing Christian doctors, social workers, dentists, optometrists and social workers are going to be serving the most needy every day.

You can still help out the project by going to www.lachc.com or contact me to help set up a tour. Emailing resmith@lachc.com will get you directly to the staff at LACHC with opportunities to support this incredible ministry serving men, women and children.

“Lead me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” — Pastor Tim Yee

My latest devotions from Life for Leaders. May God help our churches, our country, our leaders and our families navigate these dangerous and complex times. We know Jesus will return to make everything right and make all the “sad things become untrue,” (Tolkien) but until then we get to reveal a glimpse of God’s goodness in our everyday lives. May God use us to be peacemakers in this chaotic world.

40 days of Prayer: Will you join us? — Pastor Tim Yee

Featured

Kati and I have just started a 40 day season of prayer as we transition into our new ministry family at Carmel Presbyterian Church. But I realized that so many of you are also in a season of transition or looking for a change of some kind. Why not join us in prayer as well! Perhaps you can pray for God to help you find a new job or for better opportunities at your current job. Maybe you can pray for a friend that is grieving, lifting them up for 40 days before the God of all comfort. Why not pray for God to release you from a burden that has weighed you down for years? Do you need healing for a physicalemotional or financial challenge? Maybe you’ve felt a sense that God wants you to find a ministry to serve but you just don’t know where to start. Have you longed for a friend or significant other but resigned yourself to a loneliness that you don’t desire?

Whatever place you find yourself in, why not join us for 40 days in prayer for yourself, a person who is hurting, your church family or a great need in the world? Spend time worshiping the Lord and thanking Him with gratitude for something good. As Kati and I transition into a new ministry season, we know so many who are seeking the Lord for a breakthrough of some kind. We join you in seeking the Lord and waiting on Him to reveal His purposes.

The Wonderful Cross – Pastor Tim Yee

Here is one more track from our album circa 2000 featuring my friend Shauna McManus, Adam Reid and me on the choruses. I liked our “live” version better but we had already recorded this version for the studio album and we never did a live album. Band reunion is needed!

When I survey the wondrous Cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain, I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from His head, His hands, His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet?
Or thorns compose, so rich a crown

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
All who gather here by grace, draw near and bless Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
All who gather here by grace, draw near and bless Your name

When I survey the wondrous Cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain, I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from His head, His hands, His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet?
Or thorns compose, so rich a crown

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
All who gather here by grace, draw near and bless Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
All who gather here by grace, draw near and bless Your name

A song of hope — Pastor Tim Yee

I visited with some dear friends from my Bel Air Pres days the other day and we sang this song together, reminiscing on all the amazing things God did through us “weak vessels” during that season. Listen to my friend Adam sing this song and perhaps you will be encouraged to see God’s beauty amidst a difficult season in your life. I hope this ministers to you!

Lyrics
I see the Lord seated on the throne exalted
And the train of His robe fills the temple with glory
And the whole earth is filled And the whole earth is filled
And the whole earth is filled with His glory
Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy is the Lord
Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy is the Lord
I see the Lord seated on the throne exalted
And the train of his robe fills the temple with glory
And the whole earth is filled And the whole earth is filled
And the whole earth is filled with His glory
Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy is the Lord
Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy is , Holy is, Holy is the Lord
